Throughout Banbury and the local area, homeowners have begun to see the beauty of crafted wooden shutters, transforming their spaces with the character that new window coverings can bring. Wood stained finishes are an elegant choice, but brilliant white continues to be the most popular, giving a fresh, modern appeal.
Made-to-measure shutters are a beautiful choice for any home, but are also a practical solution, fitting almost any window, including special shapes, gable ends and portholes. Giving you control over the levels of light filtering into your home, shutters also add privacy, and provide additional insulation when closed, helping keep a home warmer during cooler winter months.
Whether you choose a product in hardwood, MDF or waterproof ABS, you can rest assured that we only use premium materials that are responsibly sourced and crafted to incredibly high standards. There are a range of diverse colours and styles to inspire you and suit your interior designs, so whether you’re trying to create a contemporary or classic look, you can rest assured there will be a choice just for you.
We believe in letting the quality of our shutters speak for itself, so don’t rely on pushy sales techniques, but make sure that we offer the friendliest service to help you determine your design choices.
Located on the banks of the River Cherwell, Banbury is conveniently close to the M40, and has proven to be a key location for British battles throughout history. The Battle of Edgecote Moor (1469) during the Wars of the Roses, the Battle of Edgehill (1642) during the English Civil War, and siege of Banbury Castle (destroyed in 1648), all happened within the local area.
Now a major centre of coffee processing (at the Jacobs Douwe Egberts facility), Banbury has been a market town for hundreds of years, once home to the largest cattle market in Western Europe. The motor parts industry also has a key presence in the town (such as with Prodrive and Arrival). As of April 2016, the town had one of the lowest unemployment rates in the UK.
Known for the nursery rhyme, “Ride a cock-horse to Banbury Cross”, the town’s monument is now a Victorian gothic-style replacement, as the originals were destroyed by Puritans in 1600. Due to the rise of commerce in the town, coupled with the development of the Oxford canal, there are a number of period properties in the centre of Banbury, with newer properties continuing to be built on the fringes.
1970s TV personality Larry Grayson was born William Sulley White in Banbury, although was put up for adoption after just 10 days, before moving to his new home in Nuneaton.
